The Rooms

Equipment: a lot of the furniture are originals from decades, often centuries ago.  During the course of the restoration they have been cleaned, reassembled and made functional again.
The beds, whether old or new, are all fitted with a high-quality mattress and prestigious bed linen. Please get in touch for special requests.

The TV: we don’t have TV devices in any of our rooms. If you happen to want one in yours, we can provide this for you. Please request one when you book your room.

The „Vinschger Koster“: our very own reinterpretation of a mini bar. This little trunk contains a variety of goodies, food and drinks, snacks, energy bars, dried fruits, all from our valley… Each time a surprise.

First Room
from € 90,- per night

Short description: double room on the first floor, with balcony, bathroom with shower and WC; facing east and north towards Monte Sole and St. Martin am Kofl

The First RoomDetails …

A lot of space for two people, open and light double room. The walls carry an elegant pink tone, stylised roses and a beige-grey-turquoise contour just below the ceiling.
And for some stylish balance: simple, new pinewood beds, and an equally stylish and linear bathroom, with a rather unusual door, which occupies the entire height of the room.
Extra room on the balcony, connected to the house in the 70s of the last century. Facing East, towards the hey-barn and what used to be the old barn. Now this one is covered in larch. A little spot, like it was a stage in the forest, discretely tucked away.

Great-Aunts Room
from € 90,- per night

Short description: small double room on the first floor, with balcony, bathroom with shower and WC; stunning view, facing west, towards the Alta Val Venosta and the sunset

Great Aunt Mali’s RoomDetails …

A double room, normal size, decorated with a big ornament running just below the ceiling. Great aunt was wearing the trousers in the house; here she had a perfect view over the village and over the green valley, reaching all the way to the Venosta Valley. A perfect guarding tower where nothing would go unnoticed.
Later, just a bit later: the music room! With a grand piano, a violin and many other instruments. Grandfather brought music into the house and village by founding the marching band.
Ancient furniture, lovingly refurbished, obviously new matrasses, a small and modern bathroom with a small table by the window, two chairs and a little balcony, as an observation point looking at the bell tower. A room for people who are in love with each other.

The Room above the Stube Details …

This is a very special double room. This room must always have been warmer because of the heat rising from the Stube downstairs. Facing south-west, a balcony for your first intake of extra fresh air in the morning, offering views on the vegetable garden and garden. Great views on the village life, which never sleeps.

Classy tapestries: sober lines, wide frame, decorations in the corners and a central rose with a gorgeous wild rose, and lime-green colours. A delicate combination, patterns that celebrate the little habits of a landlady, beauty and nostalgia.
Bed and bedside tables from a different time, matrass and bathroom from today. The icing on the cake: a modern freestanding bathtub, located behind the toilet block.  An immediate feeling of intimate relaxation. And then: the tiled stove (which can be lit upon request)! It almost makes you wish for a rainy day!

Where the ancient Landlady used to sleepDetails …

A spacious double room, the old landlady’s bedroom. Yes: women have shaped the Riesen! As a hint to this, the delicate flower patterns on the walls and the rose on the ceiling.
The fresh water supply has been working since 1950 here. For a long time it was the pigs-servants job to heat the water tank for the children’s bath. These days the new and modern bathroom looks sober and discreet.
Stone-pine in the middle of the room: a parting wall is cleverly functioning both as a spacious wardrobe and a headboard at the same time. A balcony for an early morning stretch or to spend the afternoon in a sun lounge.

Number Five
from € 70,- per night

Short description: double room with balcony on the first floor, bathroom with shower and WC; facing east with view on the terrace

Room Number 5Details …

If you share the bed in this room, you better know each other well; a little love wouldn’t hurt either (it never does); and if you feel like you don’t want to get up again, you can either blame it on the matrass (it’s just too comfortable), or on the person who is with you  … or just blame it on some healthy holiday laziness.
White washed walls, new pine-wood beds and a gorgeous liberty writing desk: a space for modern communication tools.
You even might be tempted to write a good old-fashioned post card, or a diary, memoirs, or even a novel…
Inhaling some fresh air, on the larch-wood balcony with a view on the terrace and a bit of the valley.

This spacious double room has an interesting “cut”: it’s located on the corner of the house where once the passage to the barn was.
In the room, the pleasant smell of the mountains: the wood is prestigious stone pine with its inebriating fragrance that slows your heartbeat and rocks you to sleep.

Wisely and painstakingly thought through in every detail, with the small wardrobe and the mirror  on the wall.

Senales Valley Room
from € 80,- per night

Short description: double room on the second floor, bathroom with shower and WC; facing east with views towards the Senales Valley

Senales Valley RoomDetails …

The Senales Valley room with its double bed, overlooks the majestic Vermoi peak towards Senales, a valley that shares many similarities with the Riesen.
In ancient documents we can read about a bridge built in the Senales Valley financed by the  Riesen.  For centuries the sheep of Tarres crossed the valley of Silandro, the Taschljoch pass and the Hochjoch pass to get to the pastures of the farmers in the Senales Valley, in the high part of the Ötztal. And the body care line in the rooms (Glacisse) contains the same particles of the ice of the glacier of the Val Senales. Enough reasons to call it the “Senales Valley Room”!
The room is cladded with pine, it smells great and is very light. Here you can breathe an atmosphere of activeness and creativity.
The sloped roof gives the room a characteristic shape and draws you towards the east facing windows, unveiling breath-taking views on the mountains and the valley.
The gorgeous wardrobe is like a cherry on the cake. The beds are modern; the bathroom is pretty and airy with a skylight.

Ladies Room

Short description: double room on the second floor, bathroom with shower and WC; facing south-west with views on the pastures of Tarres

The Ladies RoomDetails …

The “Ladies Room” gets its name from the two ladies who spent their holidays in this room for over half a century. And still are these days! Just for a few weeks, but every year, so this room has now become their very personal one.
The Ladies Room is comfortable, ideal for staying in bed doing nothing, for hours on end. Just the view on the pastures of Tarres is enough of a spectacle… (and you could even go there once).
The sloped roof gives the room a characteristic shape and draws you towards the east facing windows, unveiling breath-taking views on the mountains and the valley.
The gorgeous wardrobe is like a cherry on the cake. The beds are modern; the bathroom is pretty and airy with a skylight.

Auf der Dill
from € 90,- per night

Short description: double room on the second floor, bathroom with shower and WC; west facing with breath-taking views over the Alta Venosta

Like the AtticDetails …

Luxury! The Auf der Dill double room is in the attic. The attic used to be the room for household and agriculture-related activities. Today a special place to get away from it all.
Spending time lying on the bed, stretching the afternoon, following the trajectory of the sun on its journey to the Alta Venosta, meditating towards the sunset.
Auf der Dill is a place to daydream together; together with someone who like you, knows how to make a holiday a very rare moment. As rare as a pearl.
The bathroom is artfully nested into the top room, with a sloped ceiling on both sides. This is also the headboard of the bed, full of character, yet sober.
The spacious wardrobes are wise solutions, almost invisibly built in.
